Tax Clearance- The University of Kansas strongly supports the State of Kansas Tax Clearance Process. Vendors submitting bids or proposals which exceed $25,000 shall include a copy of a Tax Clearance Certification Form with their submittal. Gasoline and Diesel Fuel
The University of Kansas purchases tanker load quantities of
gasoline and diesel fuel on an as needed basis. When purchases are made, vendors
that have indicated an interest in bidding are contacted, allowed the opportunity
to submit a bid and an award is made to the lowest responsible bidder meeting
the terms and conditions specified in the bid. Due to the rapidly fluctuating
nature of pricing for these commodities, pricing is typically solicited and received
via fax or telephone and an award made in a very short time frame. Due to unpredictable
usage and limited on-campus storage facilities delivery is usually required the
same day quotes are received. Requests are typically faxed out in the afternoon
and due back by 9 a.m. the next morning with delivery required that afternoon
before 4 p.m. Notice of award is given to the successful vendor and the order
is placed by telephone soon after bid opening. Vendors will be notified of delivery
requirements at the time they are notified of the bid opportunity.
